1.  How can I join the Friends?
Membership is easy.  You can join by printing and filling in the Membership Form and mailing it to
the library,  or you can pick up a Membership Form at the library.

2.  Can I join at the branch that I go to most often?
Yes.  Most of the branches have a Friends’ group.  Membership funds stay at that particular
branch.

3.  Is there any type of membership card?
No.  You will begin receiving your “Booktalk” from the library or Between Friends from the
Friends.  If you have any questions concerning the status of your membership, please fill in the
Contact Form.

4.  When does my membership expire?
All memberships expire on December 31 each year.  There are two exceptions to this rule.  If you
are a Life member ($100), it is exactly that, and your membership never expires.   Second
exception - if you join the Friends AFTER Preview night of the Fall sale, your membership is good
for the next year.  For example, if you join on Thursday - Saturday of our September 2009 sale,
your membership will be good for all of 2010.

5.  Can I purchase a membership as a gift for someone else?
Yes.  It is a great gift for that reader in your life.  Just fill in the person’s information on the
membership form.

6.  What do I receive for my membership?
Members get first choice on books, DVDs, and everything else at Friends' Night before the book
sale is open to the general public.  Members also receive “Book Talk” which is the schedule for
all the programs at the Lafayette Parish Library and its branches.  This is mailed 5 times each
year.  “Between Friends”, the newsletter for the Friends, is mailed twice yearly.
